This is a spot welder that I made under the guidance of my robotics teacher, Mr. Polgar, outside of school. Its made of a microwave oven transformer thats been rewires. I first had to open the transformer and take out the existing coils. I then made the secondary winding into the primary and added my own very short, high gauge, secondary winding so that it upped the current and reduced the voltage. After putting it back together, I cut and screwed together the wood body and did the electric work, using a relay to make sure that it was safe.
In the video you can see it (under teacher supervision) welding two screws together.
